As I was reading last night's Prophet, I can't help but wonder how many of the suspects filling the DMLE's cells are innocent. Merlin knows they'll arrest someone without conducting a proper investigation, regardless of their blood status.

And I wonder if their reporter tried looking outside the "poorer housing districts" for Muggleborns. Or is there just a general assumption in the public that affluence is only available to those pure of blood? And it sounds to me like Mrs. Black is less concerned with terrorists than with Muggleborns in general. Of course, with the rampant fear in the populace of risking being associated with BOMB, I shouldn't be surprised if Muggleborns are having trouble holding down a job.

There used to be that kind of fear of being associated with the Death Eaters.

I love rain. Really.
It's a beautiful and necessary part of gardening.
But sudden showers when I'm in the middle of a project in the vegetable garden are frustrating.

Fourth pass at it, and it finally seems to be taking this time. Of course, it's not honking yet, but it's started teething, at least. I haven't got any of the previous attempts to actually grow teeth. Hopefully this one will take!

Yesterday's service for the Minister was lovely. It was nice to see so many gathered to honor her memory.


It's somewhat ironic, that the weather should be so cool and clear during such turbulent times.
But I think I'll enjoy it anyway.

Mum has settled on next Sunday for our little family picnic. Just so you know.
Though I imagine she'll be sending out formal notices anyhow.

I love the spring. That perfect balance between warm and cool weather, slightly longer days, seeing the flowers come into bloom. The feel of grass on my bare feet.

I almost didn't want to come back inside tonight. Even the cats were out in the garden with me, enjoying the sunlight beaming down on us.
And with the flowers in bloom, I'm thinking of making a new arrangement for the dining room.
